Croats Flock to World Cup in USA Despite 4,000 Euro Price Tag: 'We Sold Everything'

Croatian football fans are demonstrating a fervent passion for their national team, with travel agencies reporting complete sell-outs of World Cup packages to the USA and Canada. Despite the hefty price tag, with some tours reaching 4,200 euros per person (excluding match tickets), demand has outstripped supply.

We are very satisfied with the passenger response, we have filled all the packages and have 91 passengers, of which 45 are in the open group where the package price was 4,200 euros.

M travel, a Zagreb-based agency, has organized a 14-day guided tour for 91 passengers. Their package includes visits to major US cities like Dallas, Memphis, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, as well as Toronto in Canada. This itinerary combines sightseeing with attendance at the "Vatreni" (the national team's nickname) matches, offering a comprehensive experience for dedicated supporters.

We tried to put together a package in the open group that would match the price and offer in terms of quality of content and offer, and the passengers are satisfied.

The high cost is attributed to the significant distance and associated expenses for accommodation and transport. Agencies note that transportation within the US has become exceptionally expensive, reportedly up to ten times higher than usual during the World Cup period. Nevertheless, the enthusiasm for supporting the national team appears to outweigh these financial concerns for many Croatian fans.
