Actress Zizie Izette acquitted of corruption charges, Shaheizy Sam relieved

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Shaheizy Sam expressed relief after his sister, Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad, was acquitted and discharged on three charges of abetting a corruption case totaling RM2.8 million in unit trust investments. Sam, 44, stated he was worried about his sister facing the charges alone, especially after the death of her husband, the late Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin, on December 5 last year.

Sam shared this at the MR. DIY Club press conference with ambassadors Shaheizy Sam and Syatilla Melvin at Central Town, MyTown Shopping Centre, here, yesterday. When asked if Zizie had shared anything with him during the trial, Sam said his sister appeared calm, positive, and managed her daily life as usual.

Sessions Court Judge Rosli Ahmad made the decision after being satisfied with the defense team's arguments, which successfully raised doubts in the case based on the testimonies and authorities presented by both parties.
