AcuraBrasil offers online medical and psychological consultations after earthquakes

In response to the humanitarian emergency caused by devastating earthquakes on June 24, the organization AcuraBrasil has launched a voluntary program called "SOS Salud Venezuela." This initiative offers free online medical and psychological consultations to Venezuelans affected by the tremors and their families residing in Brazil.

The program mobilizes a team of professionals providing medical, psychological, psychoanalytic, and integrative therapy services. The consultations are available in both Spanish and Portuguese, facilitated by the telemedicine platform provided by Doctor8, a technological partner in the campaign.

To streamline patient care, the system incorporates urgent triage and registration support. This ensures that acute psychological crises and serious medical cases are prioritized for immediate attention. Recognizing potential technological barriers or difficulties users might face during registration, AcuraBrasil has also enlisted volunteers known as "Ángeles" (Angels) to guide and assist individuals throughout the process.

AcuraBrasil has clarified the regulatory conditions for service delivery based on the patient's geographical location. For individuals within Venezuela, the focus is on clinical guidance and emotional support, as Brazilian medical prescriptions are not automatically valid there. For family members in Brazil, services adhere to the regulations set forth by the Brazilian Federal Council of Medicine (CFM). The organization guarantees strict confidentiality, with all clinical records managed according to CFM and Regional Council of Psychology (CRP) standards, and personal data handled in compliance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
