ADC uploads Atiku, Amaechi’s particulars to INEC portal

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken a significant step towards the 2027 general election by uploading the nomination particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) portal.

This upload fulfills a crucial statutory requirement, allowing the party to formally submit its candidates' details within the election's timetable. Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's National Publicity Secretary, announced the development on his verified X handle, stating it marks "another important step in our preparations for the 2027 general election and our commitment to offer Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, unity, and national renewal."

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar (GCON), and our Vice Presidential Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi (CON), to the nomination portal of the @INECNigeria.

Atiku Abubakar, a former presidential candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party in 2019 and 2023, emerged as the ADC's presidential candidate after defeating Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen at the party's primary. Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation and ex-governor of Rivers State, accepted his nomination as Abubakar's running mate, completing the party's presidential ticket.

The ADC positions itself as a major opposition platform for the upcoming election, aiming to present a "credible alternative" to the current administration. Both Abubakar and Amaechi bring considerable experience to the ticket, having previously contested at the highest levels of Nigerian politics.
