Additional Recording Released in Solicitation Allegations Against Kim Seung-won: “Choi Jae-sung Controls the Regime”

A broker at the center of solicitation allegations linked to justice minister nominee Kim Seung-won has appeared in another recording boasting of his ties to powerful figures from the former administration.

Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon posted excerpts on Facebook on the 8th from a September 1, 2021, phone call involving Yang, the broker, and Kang, the founder of COVID-19 treatment developer GenNCell. In the recording, Yang describes former senior presidential secretary Choi Jae-sung as someone trusted by former President Moon Jae-in and claims that Choi could influence the administration.

I know many people, starting with the chief of staff.” The call, recorded in September 2021 during the Moon Jae-in administration, is presented as Yang showing off his relationships with figures from the ruling camp at the time.

The recording continues with Yang discussing a way to arrange a meeting with Choi or the chief of staff over an issue that was not being resolved at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The supplied account ends during that statement.
