Adeniji crowned best boxer at LBHF Ikorodu

Jamiu Adeniji emerged as the standout boxer at the Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame Ibile Divisional Championships in Ikorodu after dominating his men’s 50-kilogram bout.

Representing Agboyi Ketu LCDA, Adeniji defeated Wahab Adiat of Ikorodu West LCDA by a unanimous 5-0 decision. His sharp jabs and uppercuts gave him control from the opening round and earned him the tournament’s top individual award.

He also praised the organizers and said he hoped to maintain his form at the end-of-year tournament.

The one-day event, held in partnership with the Lagos Amateur Boxing Association, featured 10 bouts. The competition included fighters from several divisional areas of Lagos, and the women’s contests produced wins for Aishat Yisa and Oyindamola Kuseju. Two bouts ended in draws. LBHF director David Mohammed said the strong attendance showed the growing popularity of the Ibile format and expected an even more competitive grand finale later in the year.
