Adewale Ayuba to release five-track album, ‘Arise’

Adewale Ayuba is preparing to release “Arise,” a five-track album he describes as the start of another chapter in his musical life. The Nigerian Fuji musician told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the album will come out on Sept. 19 and be available worldwide.

The project reflects a change in how Ayuba plans to make and release music. He said he no longer intends to produce long-form albums or songs lasting 33 minutes, choosing instead to focus on singles and shorter releases that match changing listening habits.

“I’m no longer going to do long-form albums or 33-minute songs. I’m going with singles. That’s why I called it Arise, the beginning of another journey in my life,” he said.

Ayuba said “Koloba Koloba” and “Uncommon” helped him gauge how listeners would respond to his newer approach. After receiving what he described as strong affection for both songs, he compiled five tracks for the album. The track list includes “Ileke,” “All Over the World,” “Kututu” and “Yetunde,” along with one additional song.

The Bonsue Fuji musician said messages remain central to his work, even as he changes its format. “I just want people to know that I’m versatile; I can do anything with music,” Ayuba said, urging listeners to hear “Arise” and judge the project for themselves.
