ADNOC reports 15 vessels attacked in Strait of Hormuz, one dead, 20 injured

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) stated on Friday that it has been severely affected by what it described as unprovoked attacks on its personnel and assets. The company is striving to maintain its customer commitments amidst an "exceptionally challenging environment."

ADNOC reported that 15 of its vessels have been targeted by missiles and drones while traversing the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the current conflict. These attacks, including three incidents this week, have led to the death of one crew member and injuries to 20 others. The company is working closely with authorities and implementing necessary measures to safeguard its people, assets, and operations.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint between Iran and Oman, handles approximately one-fifth of global oil consumption. Shipping through this waterway has faced repeated disruptions since the expansion of regional conflict, with attacks on commercial vessels driving up freight rates and escalating security concerns. ADNOC, a major global energy producer, exports crude oil, natural gas, and refined products worldwide.
