Ado attacks new generation to be catalyst for social change

Ado Shaibu, Secretary General of ACT-Wazalendo, has called on new youth members joining the party to embrace their responsibility in fighting for public interest, rights without discrimination, and genuine democracy. He emphasized that young people are the vital force for social and political transformation in Tanzania.

Speaking at the party's headquarters in Magomeni, Dar es Salaam, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Shaibu welcomed 128 new members from various universities. He noted that student activism is a long-standing part of social and political struggles, urging the youth to prepare for current global challenges, including advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the issue of unemployment.

The party is committed to strengthening its political activities in universities through its Youth Wing to cultivate a new generation of leaders with a vision for change.

Regarding democracy, he stated that a core mission of ACT-Wazalendo is to advocate for a democratic system that upholds justice, accountability, the rule of law, a new constitution, and the protection of human rights.
