The match itself saw Curacao achieve a remarkable result against Ecuador, who dominated possession and recorded 27 shots. The hero of the day was undoubtedly goalkeeper Eloy Room, a 37-year-old playing in North America's second division. Room's exceptional performance, described as making "miracles," frustrated the Ecuadorian attackers and secured the valuable point for his team.
