AFRAA Welcomes Enugu Air, Boosting Nigeria's Domestic Aviation Growth

The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) has welcomed Enugu Air as its newest member, marking a significant expansion within Nigeria's rapidly growing domestic aviation sector. This admission makes Enugu Air the 50th airline to join the AFRAA fraternity, which collectively accounts for over 85 percent of international traffic carried by African airlines.

AFRAA Secretary General Abdérahmane Berthé expressed delight at welcoming Enugu Air, emphasizing the airline's vital role as a homegrown investment crucial for building resilient air connectivity across the continent. He stated that AFRAA looks forward to supporting the airline through its IOSA certification process and fostering its continued growth.

Founded on July 7, 2025, Enugu Air operates a fleet of Embraer E170/E190/E195 aircraft from its headquarters in Enugu. The airline currently serves nine domestic destinations and has strategic plans for further expansion across Nigeria, followed by regional and international routes across Africa, Europe, and beyond. This expansion aligns with AFRAA's strategic priorities to foster a sustainable, interconnected, and affordable air transport industry in Africa.
