After a terrible year, Mircea Rednic says he is ready to return to coaching

Mircea Rednic says the time has come to return to the bench. The 64-year-old coach told Digi Sport that he expects to resume work, potentially from the winter, after turning down several offers during a difficult year.

“I am tempted to return and I have had offers. But when I had to make decisions, all sorts of events happened,” Rednic said. “This year was not a good one for me, that is clear.” He said he had received approaches from Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Belgium, but felt he needed a short break.

Rednic said the pause allowed him to stay close to his family after losing several people dear to him. “Life is football for me and, more than likely, I will accept the offers that come and that are interesting,” he said. But he added that he no longer wanted to coach simply for the sake of working, especially at clubs without financial stability.

“I like coaching and thinking everything through myself. The time has come for me to return,” he said. Rednic previously coached Dinamo and Rapid and said he would only take a job where the conditions allowed him to work properly.
