After third attack in 24 hours, leaders call on IDF to respond to West Bank terror with 'iron fist'

Following a fatal terror attack at Gilad Farm in the West Bank, Israeli lawmakers and leaders have demanded a forceful response from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), calling for action with an "iron fist."

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich offered condolences to the victim's family and prayed for the wounded, stating, "We will not normalize the erosion of deterrence and the brazenness of our enemies in recent weeks." He explicitly demanded that the IDF "act with an iron fist against the village of the murderers and its surroundings and restore governance and deterrence."

Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett echoed these sentiments, sending condolences and emphasizing solidarity with the IDF. "The terror must be eradicated with an iron fist," Bennett stated, aligning with the calls for a robust military response.

He called for the IDF to "erase from the air and through D9 [bulldozers] the homes of terrorists and their supporters, and to collect from the terrorists the price they deserve."

Samaria Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan described the situation as ongoing and dangerous, urging an offensive response. "We must relentlessly pursue the terrorists and strike terrorism with full force," he said, while also stressing the importance of continued settlement development. He demanded a large-scale military operation against the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, whom he accused of inciting terrorism.
