Against Familiar Faces: Productive Sargiūnas and a Dramatic Win for Šaro’s Team

Šarūnas Jasikevičius’s Fenerbahçe secured a dramatic 81-79 victory over Milan’s Emporio Armani at a tournament in Crete.

Ignas Sargiūnas made productive use of his 15 minutes on the court, scoring nine points on 3-of-4 two-point shooting and 1-of-2 from three-point range. He also blocked one shot.

Milan could not be rescued by strong performances from two Americans who have previously played in Lithuania. Moses Wright, a former Kaunas Žalgiris center, scored 20 points, while R.J. Cole, who played for Vilnius Rytas several years ago, finished with 17 points and seven assists.

Will Clyburn led Fenerbahçe with 13 points, while Johnny Juzang contributed 12. Fenerbahçe won the game 81-79, with the quarter scores reading 28-19, 15-21, 17-20 and 21-19.
