Aggravated Life Sentence Demanded for Three in Rojda Yakışıklı Murder Case

An aggravated life sentence has been demanded for three individuals in connection with the murder of Rojda Yakışıklı, whose body was discovered buried in a stream bed in the Sur district of Diyarbakır. Yakışıklı was reported missing by her relatives on December 27, 2025.

The investigation led to the arrest and jailing of Okay Gür, with whom Yakışıklı lived, along with Barış Dorğun and Ömer Dorğun. An indictment prepared by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office charges the three suspects with intentional killing of a female in participation.

Okay Gür initially denied involvement but confessed after being shown a photograph of the location where the body was found. In his statement to prosecutors, Gür described an argument with Yakışıklı on the day of the murder, stating, "My eyes went blind, and I strangled her with a rope." He admitted to placing her body in a car trunk, burying it in a stream bed, and burning the clothes he wore afterward.

Statements from Barış Dorğun reveal inconsistencies. He initially claimed no knowledge of the incident but later stated that Okay Gür asked for his vehicle, which he provided. Dorğun reported that Gür confessed to killing and burying Yakışıklı and offered him 1 million Turkish Lira to remain silent. Ömer Dorğun, while confirming his son Barış's vehicle was used by Gür, maintained his innocence and claimed ignorance of the events.
