Businessman Rescued in Istanbul After Kidnapping for Ransom

Istanbul police have successfully rescued a businessman, identified as S.K., who was abducted from his workplace in the 100. Yıl Mahallesi on June 3. The incident prompted an immediate investigation by the Robbery Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate of the Istanbul Police Department.

Authorities determined that S.K. was kidnapped by individuals who had a debt claim against him through a relative, I.K. The perpetrators contacted S.K.'s family, demanding a ransom of 3 million Turkish lira for his safe return. Through technical and physical surveillance, police located S.K. being held captive in a house in Büyükçekmece.

An operation was swiftly organized, with the participation of Special Operations police units. S.K. was rescued unharmed. During the operation, four suspects were detained, and a pistol without a license, along with numerous bullets, were seized from the residence. Following legal proceedings, three of the suspects were remanded in custody, while one was released under judicial control measures.
