Agostina Vega femicide: Owner of car used by main suspect to dispose of body arrested

Soledad Andreani, the owner of the black Ford Ka used to transport Agostina Vega's body, has been arrested in Córdoba. Andreani is the ex-partner of Claudio Barrelier, the primary suspect in Vega's femicide. Barrelier allegedly used Andreani's car to move Vega's body from a house in the Cofico neighborhood to an empty lot in Ampliación Ferreyra, where it was discovered a week later.

Andreani stated she lent the vehicle to Barrelier on May 26, claiming ignorance of his actions. "He always used me," she told reporters, attempting to excuse her involvement. She asserted she never imagined Barrelier could be involved in a femicide. Andreani recounted that Barrelier repeatedly insisted on borrowing the car, citing a need to take clothes to a relative. Despite having a "bad feeling," she eventually agreed. She also mentioned that upon reclaiming the car, she noticed nothing unusual except a cigarette smell.

However, both the legal representation for Vega's father and grandparents requested Andreani's indictment for aiding and abetting. Lawyer Carlos Nayi argued that Andreani provided "logistics" for transporting the body and specifically questioned the subsequent washing of the vehicle, which was seized for forensic analysis.

Fernanda Alaniz, the father's lawyer, insisted that when Gabriel Vega encountered Barrelier outside Andreani's house, Andreani would "redirect the conversation" whenever Vega tried to address the situation. Prosecutors ordered searches of the car wash where Andreani's son took the vehicle and at Wachitas Bar, where Andreani worked as a "producer." The bar was recently shut down by the municipality for lacking proper permits.
