Agostina Vega murder case: 'Witnesses heard her screams,' says father

Gabriel Vega, the father of 14-year-old Agostina Vega, has voiced strong criticism of the ongoing investigation into his daughter's murder, asserting that the current detentions do not reflect the full scope of those involved. "More people were involved and there is evidence," Vega stated, emphasizing that witnesses heard Agostina's cries for help. He questioned how individuals present in the house could have been unaware of her distress.

Agostina was murdered on May 23 in Córdoba. Currently, Claudio Barrelier is charged with homicide, facing accusations of treachery, cruelty, and gender-based violence. Additionally, Osvaldo Fassetta, Soledad Andreani, and Marianela Palmero are detained and accused of aggravated concealment. Nearly three months after the crime, Vega expressed his continued wait for justice, pointing to inconsistencies in the statements provided by those involved.

Vega believes the crime was premeditated, suggesting Barrelier targeted any young woman, not specifically Agostina. He is particularly critical of Soledad Andreani, one of the detained individuals, rejecting the notion that she is merely a victim. "I am convinced that (Soledad) Andreani also knew. Don't tell me she's just another victim. I'm tired of hearing that," Vega declared, insisting that Agostina was the sole victim who suffered.

I had all this planned. It was either Agostina or another girl. There is a testimony, a person says that Barrelier had investigated. He had the objective of the act, not the person itself. He wanted to carry out the act.

Legal representatives for the Vega family have requested new charges and arrests from prosecutor Raúl Garzón, who is currently evaluating these requests alongside forensic analyses of mobile phones and data cross-referencing. The investigation continues into the events of May 23, when Agostina attended a football match and a birthday party before secretly meeting Barrelier, where she was allegedly assaulted and killed.
