Ahmetcan Kaplan Signs Four-Year Deal with NEC Nijmegen

Ahmetcan Kaplan has officially joined NEC Nijmegen, signing a four-year contract with the Dutch club. This move follows a successful loan spell last season where Kaplan became an integral part of the team.

NEC Nijmegen's Technical Director, Carlos Aalbers, expressed his satisfaction with the transfer, noting Kaplan's significant contributions during his previous tenure. Aalbers stated that the club had been working for a long time to secure the transfer.

Kaplan is currently undergoing rehabilitation for an injury, which he will continue with NEC's medical staff. The club aims for his return to the field after the international break in September. He will wear the number 22 jersey for NEC Nijmegen.

Kaplan initially transferred to Ajax from Trabzonspor in the summer of 2022. He made 25 appearances for Ajax in his first two seasons. Last season, the 23-year-old defender was loaned to NEC Nijmegen, where he played 30 matches and scored two goals. He was also part of the preliminary squad for the Turkish national team for the 2026 World Cup but did not make the final list.
