Ahn Sun-young Misses 300,000 Won Exam Due to 1-Minute Lateness, Cites Difficulty Finding Parking

Broadcaster Ahn Sun-young shared her frustration after being unable to take an internationally recognized English proficiency test because she was merely one minute late. Ahn posted on Instagram that after circling the block eight times in a one-way street system trying to find parking, she finally parked her car and arrived at the test center.

I couldn't find parking and ended up going around the one-way street eight times before finally parking. I arrived after 8:50 AM, so they wouldn't let me take the test.

Despite arriving before the 9:00 AM start time, she was informed that the 8:50 AM cut-off for entry had passed, and she could not take the exam. Ahn lamented the loss of the 300,000 won test fee, expressing her dismay that despite being present, she was denied entry. She recounted the proctor's response: "That's why you need to arrive early," a statement she acknowledged as correct but still found difficult to accept given the circumstances.

The test fee was 300,000 won, and they wouldn't let me take it even though I was here. They said, 'That's why you need to arrive early,' which is so true, but I rearranged my schedule for this test.

Ahn also questioned the lack of information regarding parking availability, suggesting that such details should be provided. Reflecting on the situation, she regretted not taking a taxi and expressed annoyance with herself for the oversight. She later found some solace in complaining to the parking attendant about her predicament, explaining why she was in such a hurry to leave the parking spot. The test Ahn attempted to take appears to be the IELTS, administered by IDP, which clearly states on its website that entry is not permitted after 8:50 AM for morning exams.
