AIK begins talks for Nigerian star Yohanna's sale

AIK Fotboll, a Swedish football club, has officially initiated negotiations for the sale of promising Nigerian talent Zadok Yohanna. The club anticipates a significant profit from the transfer, projecting a net gain of over 130,000 kSEK (around €12,000) for the 18-year-old forward.

Yohanna joined AIK last summer from Ikon Allah FC in Kaduna, Nigeria, on a four-and-a-half-year contract. He has quickly made his mark since breaking into the first team this season, contributing two goals and two assists in seven appearances. Recent reports have linked the young player with moves to several top European clubs, prompting AIK to confirm the commencement of sale proceedings.

"AIK Fotboll has initiated negotiations for a sale of player Zadok Yohanna. Current bids indicate a net profit effect higher than Class VIII (i.e. over 130,000 kSEK)," the club stated. AIK has implemented a classification system for player transfers based on net profit, with Yohanna's potential sale falling into the highest tier. This classification considers revenue from player sales minus agent fees, selling expenses, compensation to previous clubs, and the player's book value.

While AIK has not disclosed the identity of the club they are negotiating with, they have stated that an official announcement will be made if an agreement is reached. Yohanna has previously been linked with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and French side Rennes. He made his debut for AIK in August 2025 and scored his first two goals in March 2026, helping the team secure qualification for the Swedish Cup quarter-finals.
