Aiyedatiwa enrolls Amotekun operatives in pension, insurance schemes

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has taken a significant step to bolster the welfare of the state's security outfit, the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun.

In a move aimed at enhancing the morale and commitment of these operatives, Governor Aiyedatiwa has approved their enrollment into the state's contributory health insurance scheme. This ensures that the personnel dedicated to security operations across the state have access to essential healthcare services.

Further demonstrating a commitment to their long-term well-being, the governor also sanctioned their inclusion in the contributory pension scheme and the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund. These provisions are designed to provide financial security for the operatives during and after their service.

The initiative by Governor Aiyedatiwa was aimed at boosting the morale of security operatives and enhancing their commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

These welfare packages are in addition to an existing life insurance policy, offering a comprehensive safety net for the Amotekun operatives. The state government believes these measures will not only strengthen the institutional framework of the corps but also improve their operational efficiency.

In preparation for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, 650 Amotekun operatives have been deployed across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State. This deployment is part of the government's proactive measures to ensure security and maintain peace before, during, and after the festivities.

The governor also approved the issuance of Warrants of Service Enlistment to officers and personnel of the agency pending the completion of the required legal framework.
