Ajax Officially Signs Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund

Dutch football giants Ajax Amsterdam have officially secured the signing of attacking midfielder Julian Brandt from German club Borussia Dortmund. The German international has committed his future to Ajax, signing a three-year contract that will see him remain in Amsterdam until June 30, 2029.

The transfer confirmation came via the club's official website on Saturday. Ajax's Technical Director, Jordi Cruijff, expressed his relief after a lengthy negotiation process spanning several months. "Julian has chosen Ajax, and we are very happy about that. We have been in talks for several months, and he actually had the opportunity to join other clubs as well," Cruijff stated.

Brandt's arrival is anticipated to provide a significant boost to the squad managed by coach Francesco Farioli. Ajax is aiming for top performance in the 2026/2027 season, and Brandt's extensive experience at the highest level is considered a valuable asset. For the Bremen-born player, Ajax marks his first club outside of Germany's top flight. Prior to this move, Brandt spent his career with Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund. During his tenure at Borussia Dortmund, he amassed an impressive record, appearing in 307 matches across all competitions, contributing 57 goals and 70 assists over 19,844 minutes played.
