AKP spokesperson slams DEM Party leader over Israel-Palestine comments

AKP spokesperson Ömer Çelik strongly rebuked Tülay Hatimoğulları, the leader of the DEM Party, for her recent statements made on Halk TV concerning Israel's occupation of Palestine. Çelik took to social media to express his rejection of Hatimoğulları's remarks, which he characterized as unfairly targeting the ruling party and the government.

Çelik highlighted the timing of Hatimoğulları's comments, noting that they came shortly after a new parliamentary period commenced with overwhelming support, receiving 467 votes. He found it "instructive" that the DEM Party leader's initial statements were "unjust and baseless" attacks against the AKP and the government.

It is instructive that the first statements by the DEM Party leader are unjust and baseless attacks on our party and government, especially when a brand new era has been opened in Parliament with 467 affirmative votes.

The AKP spokesperson emphasized Turkey's firm opposition to Israel's occupation of Palestine, stating that President Erdoğan, cabinet members, AKP officials, and the nation stand strongly against the "inhumane occupation." He asserted that "Turkey is the strongest voice of the humanity alliance."

Çelik particularly condemned Hatimoğulları for her approach to criticizing Turkey's stance on the occupation. He stated that she referenced the words of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu while doing so, calling it a "shameful record" for any politician who supports the "humanity alliance." Çelik demanded that Hatimoğulları retract her statement, arguing that no politician advocating for the "humanity alliance" would use Netanyahu's words as a reference point.
