Akpabio Rallies Senators on Patriotism

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on senators to place national interest above partisan considerations as they resume plenary sessions. He emphasized that Nigerians expect the National Assembly to tackle the country's pressing security and economic challenges with courage and purposeful legislation.

Akpabio declared that the legislature must meet the expectations of Nigerians by enacting laws that bolster national security, stimulate economic growth, improve healthcare and education, create opportunities for youth, and protect vulnerable populations. He specifically renewed the Senate's commitment to supporting the nation's security architecture, expressing deep concern over the continued abduction of schoolchildren in Ondo State and the captivity of other Nigerians by terrorists.

He noted that while individuals experience electoral ups and downs, the triumph of constitutional order stands as a greater achievement for democracy.
