Akpabio, Uzodimma, Aiyedatiwa, others arrive Osun for APC mega rally

Key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and several governors, have arrived in Osogbo, Osun State, for a major rally.

The high-profile gathering is a crucial part of the APC's final push to mobilize support for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday's gubernatorial election. The presence of senior party figures and state governors is expected to energize the campaign as it intensifies grassroots mobilization across the state.

The mega rally is scheduled for the final day of the official campaign period and is anticipated to draw APC leaders, supporters, and campaign coordinators from all 30 local government areas of Osun. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has designated August 13 as the campaign deadline, following a rescheduling of the election from August 8 to August 15.

APC leadership is utilizing this final stretch to consolidate support for Mr. Oyebamiji, who secured the party's nomination after its primary election. Visiting governors and other leaders have also been engaging with party members and supporters, including indigenes of their home states residing in Osun, to garner additional backing for the candidate.

The APC aims to complement its existing grassroots structures with these mobilization efforts, seeking to translate campaign activities into votes. The party is focused on solidifying its support base, reaching undecided voters, and strengthening its campaign machinery in the crucial days leading up to the election.
