Al Ain extends contract of Paraguayan international Kaku Gamarra until 2028

Argentine-born midfielder Alejandro Romero Gamarra, known as Kaku, has extended his contract with UAE Pro League club Al Ain until 2028. The 31-year-old, who represents the Paraguayan national team, has become a key player for the Emirati club since his arrival in July 2023.

Kaku joined Al Ain from Saudi Arabian club Al-Taawoun FC, where he also made a significant impact. His career began in Argentina with Huracán, from where he moved to the New York Red Bulls in the United States in 2018. He has since established himself as a prominent figure in Middle Eastern football.

With Al Ain, Kaku has already secured several titles, including the 2023/24 AFC Champions League and the 2025/26 UAE Pro League. His previous achievements include winning the Copa Argentina and Supercopa Argentina with Huracán, and the MLS Supporters Shield with the New York Red Bulls.

Kaku has also represented Paraguay internationally, earning 34 caps and scoring 6 goals for the Albirroja. His contributions include 18 appearances in World Cup qualifiers, 12 in friendlies, and 4 in the Copa América.
