Al Ain's Sweihan records 50.2°C as UAE weather body expects rain over the next 4 days

Temperatures in the United Arab Emirates soared past 50 degrees Celsius on Saturday, with the Sweihan area in Al Ain registering the nation's highest temperature at 50.2°C. The extreme heat occurred at 2:30 PM local time, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Looking ahead, the NCM forecasts a shift in weather patterns, anticipating rain across the northern and eastern parts of the country over the next four days. Sunday's outlook includes partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies in specific northern and eastern areas, with a chance of light rainfall.

Residents in some western coastal regions should prepare for humid conditions and potential light fog during Sunday night and early Monday morning. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, shifting from southeasterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 10 to 20 km/h and gusts up to 30 km/h. The sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are predicted to be calm.

Further into the week, Monday's weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy. The NCM notes the possibility of cumulus clouds developing in the eastern regions during the afternoon, which could bring isolated rain showers. The sea is expected to remain calm.
