Al-Arabi and Al-Sulaibikhat handball teams begin preseason preparations

Kuwaiti handball clubs Al-Arabi and Al-Sulaibikhat are kicking off their preparations for the upcoming 2026-27 season, with a strong focus on enhancing player fitness and bolstering their rosters. Both teams have undergone substantial changes, signaling their ambition to challenge for domestic honors.

Al-Arabi's senior team will concentrate on physical conditioning and strength building during the initial phase of their training program, led by national head coach Hussein Habib. The club has also been active in the transfer market, signing South Korean player Jinho Kim, Hamad Dayed Al-Adwani from Burgan, and Mohammed Amer from Kuwait Club, aiming to create a more competitive squad.

He stressed the importance of commitment and hard work throughout the preparation period, saying the objective is to ensure the team reaches the required level of readiness when competitive action begins.

Al-Sulaibikhat, known as the "North Reds," is also launching its preseason under new leadership, appointing national coach Hussein Habib and recruiting foreign professionals Jovan Milosevic (Serbia), Leandro da Silva (Brazil), and Nicolas Clair (France). They have also strengthened their local contingent with several players, including goalkeeper Hussein Karam, and secured Abdulaziz Al-Najjar on a one-season loan from Kazma.

First-team manager Hussein Sawan expressed confidence in Al-Sulaibikhat's ability to mount a serious challenge for domestic titles, citing the strength of the coaching staff, administration, and players. The club's objective is to achieve a competitive and respectable season, with the coaching staff prioritizing fitness before gradually introducing technical and tactical drills.
