Kuwait volleyball season resumes Oct 22 as Arab U-17 Championship begins in Bahrain

Kuwait's domestic volleyball season is set to resume on October 22, following the conclusion of the Arab Volleyball Championship in Bahrain. The Kuwait Volleyball Federation made this decision during its latest board meeting to ensure the national team can compete in the regional tournament, scheduled for October 8-18.

Federation Secretary-General Talal Al-Nimsh confirmed the Arab Volleyball Federation's official dates for the championship. This prompted a meeting with the national team's technical staff, led by Argentine coach Julian and assistant Zaid Al-Kadhimi, to finalize preparations. Al-Nimsh stated that delaying the domestic season was necessary for the national team's interests.

Preparations for the Arab championship will commence in early September. The federation plans to coordinate with the Public Authority for Sport to arrange an overseas training camp. This aims to ensure the players are in optimal condition for the tournament.

"We want to ensure the national team is fully prepared and able to deliver a performance that reflects the standing of Kuwaiti volleyball at the Arab level," Al-Nimsh said, expressing his wishes for the team's success. The second Arab U-17 Championship features six national teams: Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and Algeria. They will compete in a round-robin preliminary stage, with the top four advancing to the semifinals. Kuwait begins its campaign against Saudi Arabia.
