Al Jazeera journalist killed in Israeli strike in Gaza, military identifies him as Hamas member

Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera announced that one of its journalists, cameraman Ahmed Wishah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. The broadcaster reported the incident on its website.

Meanwhile, Gaza health officials reported that Israeli strikes resulted in five deaths, including four members of the same al-Safadi family in Gaza City's Sabra neighborhood. The civil defense agency, operating under Hamas authority, stated that the strike on the apartment building also injured 12 others.

Footage from the scene depicted extensive damage to the apartment building. Relatives of the al-Safadi family expressed their grief and disbelief, emphasizing that the victims were civilians. Al-Shifa hospital confirmed receiving the bodies of the four family members, including two children. The hospital also reported receiving one body following a separate Israeli drone strike elsewhere in Gaza City.
