Bhd. has strategically established the Alam Flora Driving Excellence Centre (AFDEC) to bolster the competence of its drivers and ensure its workforce is prepared for the demands of new-generation electric vehicles and advanced cleaning equipment. This initiative underscores the company's commitment to professional development and operational readiness in the face of evolving technology.

The training using simulators allows Alam Flora drivers to be exposed to various operational situations in a safe environment before operating real vehicles.

AFDEC is a simulator-based training facility designed to elevate driver proficiency, cultivate a robust safety culture, and bolster the company's overall operational excellence. According to Alam Flora CEO Shariman Yusuf Mohamed Zain, the center reflects the company's dedication to nurturing a workforce that is not only more skilled and disciplined but also adaptable to technological advancements and future operational requirements.

The training methodology at AFDEC involves simulating various driving scenarios, including urban, rural, and hilly terrains, under diverse road and weather conditions. This approach allows drivers to experience a wide range of operational situations in a secure environment before handling actual vehicles. The center also offers a Defensive Driving module, which simulates critical emergency situations such as sudden animal or vehicle appearances, brake failures, steering malfunctions, and tire blowouts, thereby testing drivers' decision-making capabilities in high-pressure scenarios.

Training employs a 1:1 scale Truck Simulator Station, replicating the cabin of Alam Flora's UD Truck operational lorries. The system generates performance assessment reports based on the KEJARA system to determine competency levels and identify needs for follow-up training. The establishment of AFDEC aligns with Alam Flora's broader efforts to expand the use of green technology, including the deployment of electric-powered cleaning vehicles and equipment. These assets, such as small garbage collection machines, leaf blowers, electric street sweepers, smart bins, and road maintenance vehicles, are expected to enhance operational productivity while reducing carbon emissions and noise pollution.
