Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigation underway in High River

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has launched an investigation at a rural property located just north of High River, Alberta. Global News observed a heavy police presence at the scene early Wednesday morning, with numerous marked and unmarked RCMP vehicles blocking access to the property.

Authorities have released minimal information regarding the nature of the investigation. However, members of the Major Crimes Unit were confirmed to be on site. Investigators, equipped with protective gear, were seen actively searching both the interior and exterior of the residence.

The property, situated on 112 Street East, features a single-story bungalow with a long, circular driveway. Neighbors working on adjacent properties reported seeing the increased police activity since the early hours of Wednesday, with more officers arriving throughout the day.

Visible on the property were several Alberta flags and signs advocating for Alberta's independence, alongside 'no trespassing' signs. The individuals residing in the home were reportedly renting the property from its owners. The investigation is ongoing.
