Alert in Becali's neighborhood: A wild boar roamed among exclusive villas in Pipera

An unusual alert was issued to residents of Bucharest's upscale Pipera neighborhood on Tuesday, warning them of a wild boar spotted near their homes. The message, sent via Ro-Alert, urged people to stay indoors and avoid the area.

Authorities reported the wild animal was seen on Erou Iancu Nicolae street in Pipera, part of the Voluntari town on the outskirts of the capital. The warning emphasized maintaining a safe distance from the boar, refraining from attempting to photograph or feed it, and protecting any household animals.

The area where the boar was sighted is close to Băneasa Forest and the Bucharest Zoo, suggesting a possible reason for its proximity to the residential zone. This incident follows a similar event in April 2025, when a wild boar appeared in the central park of Otopeni.

Intervention teams are currently on the ground, working to locate and safely remove the animal. The presence of wildlife in urban or suburban areas, particularly near forests, has become more common in recent years, prompting such alerts.
