Alert issued for heavy rains and 90 km/h winds tonight

Paraguay's Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has issued an updated alert for intense rains, strong winds, and potential hail. The forecast indicates the formation of precipitation cells with moderate to strong electrical discharges, accompanied by gusts of wind and isolated hailstorms.

The most unstable weather is currently organizing over the southwestern Oriental region. The areas under alert include southwestern Misiones and southern Ñeembucú. Meteorologist Ana Pereira noted that winds could reach up to 90 km/h in the Western region, while the Eastern region might experience gusts up to 60 km/h. A special bulletin remains in effect, predicting rainfall accumulation between 20 and 60 millimeters, winds around 90 km/h, and a high probability of hail until early Friday morning.

A cold front is expected to enter the country by the end of Thursday, pushing instability across much of Paraguay.
