Alex Iwobi: Stepping into Legendary Milestone

Alex Iwobi stands one appearance away from a rare Premier League milestone. If he plays for Fulham against Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage, the Nigerian midfielder will reach 100 league appearances for the club.

That would make Iwobi only the fifth player in Premier League history to record at least 100 appearances for three different clubs. He would also become the first African player to achieve the feat, adding a historic distinction to a career built on longevity and adaptability.

Iwobi has made 99 league appearances for Fulham and featured in the opening two matches of the 2026-27 campaign. Combined with his 100 appearances for Arsenal and 123 for Everton, the Fulham milestone would take his Premier League total to 322 matches.

The four players previously to reach 100 appearances for three clubs are Gareth Barry, James Milner, Gary Speed and Rory Delap. Barry reached the mark with Aston Villa, Manchester City and Everton, while Milner did so with Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Liverpool. Speed represented Leeds United, Newcastle United and Bolton Wanderers, and Delap reached the figure with Derby County, Southampton and Stoke City.

Iwobi’s route to the milestone began in Lagos before he moved to England at a young age. He joined Arsenal’s Hale End academy at six and spent more than a decade progressing through the club’s youth system. Arsène Wenger gave him his senior debut in a League Cup match during the 2015-16 season, when Iwobi was 19.
