Algerian army recovers significant weapons cache in In Guezzam

Units of the Algerian National People's Army (ANP) seized a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment in the operational sector of In Guezzam, located in the 6th Military Region. The recovery occurred on Tuesday following the exploitation of intelligence provided by security services.

The operation yielded a military all-terrain vehicle, five Kalashnikov assault rifles, three FMPK submachine guns, four Dushka heavy machine guns, an anti-aircraft machine gun, and an RPG-7 rocket launcher, along with a mortar. Additionally, forces confiscated four PG7V projectiles, 2587 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, eight ammunition magazines, and two mobile phones.

Military authorities described the operation as "qualitative," reflecting "the high degree of vigilance and operational readiness of the ANP units in protecting national borders and combating any threat that could undermine the country's security and stability." They reaffirmed the armed forces' determination to thwart criminal activities and any attempts at infiltration or destabilization along the nation's borders.
