Algiers Reviews Exam Preparations and Bolsters Transport Network

A crucial executive council meeting, presided over by the Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdenour Rabehi, convened this Wednesday to meticulously review preparations for the upcoming end-of-year school examinations and to assess the current status of the wilaya's transport sector. This dual focus underscores the administration's commitment to both educational continuity and the essential mobility of our citizens.

Regarding the examinations, a comprehensive plan has been established. A total of 272 centers have been designated to accommodate 92,443 candidates for the Baccalaureate, while 246 centers will host 81,336 candidates for the BEM. The authorities have affirmed that all necessary logistical and organizational measures are in place to ensure the smooth conduct of these critical assessments. The Wali has further mandated intensified field inspections of examination centers to identify and rectify any deficiencies promptly, ensuring a fair and conducive environment for our students.

In parallel, the meeting provided a vital update on urban transport. The existing network comprises 34 lines, and the ETUSA fleet has already been significantly enhanced with 420 buses. Looking ahead, two key initiatives are planned: the deployment of an additional 200 buses to strengthen current routes and the introduction of 220 more buses to establish 57 new lines. These new routes are strategically designed to serve the needs of our expanding suburbs and densely populated areas, improving connectivity and accessibility for a greater number of residents across the capital.
