Algiers-Tunis International Train Service Updates Schedules and Fares

The national railway company has announced updated schedules and fares for the international train service connecting Algiers and Tunis, a route that facilitates regular travel between Algeria and Tunisia via the eastern Algerian border.

According to the company's statement, the train departing from Annaba operates on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 09:00. It makes stops in Souk Ahras, Ghardimaou, Jendouba, and Béja before reaching Tunis at 18:27. In the reverse direction, departures from Tunis are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 08:25, with an arrival in Annaba at 18:20.

Border control formalities are managed at the international station of Souk Ahras for the Algerian side and at the Ghardimaou station for the Tunisian side, ensuring coordinated passage management between the two countries.

Tickets are available at several stations, including Annaba, Souk Ahras, Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Sétif, and El Eulma. First-class tickets are priced at 1,900 Algerian dinars, while second-class tickets cost 1,640 dinars. Round-trip fares are set at 3,485 dinars for first class and 3,040 dinars for second class.

Additionally, children under 4 years old travel for free, and those between 4 and 12 years old receive a 50% discount.
