Alice Lesmana to Represent Jakarta at 11th Turkish Airlines World Cup Golf Final

Alice Lesmana will represent Jakarta at the 11th Turkish Airlines World Cup grand final in Antalya, Turkey, after winning the local qualifier. The golfer secured her spot by winning at Damai Indah Golf, PIK Course, Jakarta, on Thursday. Lesmana expressed surprise and excitement about the opportunity to play in Turkey for the first time.

I didn't expect this result, I was so surprised. Coincidentally, I've never been to Turkey, so it will definitely be fun to go there. I will definitely enjoy this opportunity and try to play my best.

She led the competition with 39 points, noting that the course was long but her game was strong. Lesmana has been playing golf for 12 years. Imam Sanusi and Tomoko Imada placed second and third, respectively. Lesmana also won the nearest-to-the-pin skill award for women. Purwohadi won the men's category, and Muhammad Luthfi Haiban took the lowest gross score with 78.

A similar tournament will be held in Bali in September to find a representative from the island. Globally, 139 tournaments are being held in 80 countries, with winners converging for the grand final. Participants will enjoy challenging matches and stay at the Gloria Serenity Resort. Over 10,000 golfers worldwide are participating in the qualifying rounds, which use a one-day Stableford format.

Turkish Airlines has organized this tournament annually since 2013. Celal Baykal, General Manager of Turkish Airlines Jakarta, thanked participants and congratulated Lesmana, wishing her the best in Turkey. The event was attended by local prominent figures and business community members. All finalists will fly to Turkey in Turkish Airlines Business Class.
