All four Argentine teams advance to Super Rugby Americas semifinals

The Super Rugby Americas (SRA) 2026 season has concluded its first round, with all four participating Argentine franchises securing spots in the semifinals. This ensures the championship trophy will return to Argentina after Peñarol of Uruguay claimed the title in 2025.

Dogos XV dominated the final round, defeating Yacaré XV 48-20 to finish atop the standings with 60 points, seven ahead of their closest competitor, Pampas. Despite the match's lack of consequence for the standings, Dogos XV displayed a superior performance throughout.

Pampas, the 2024 SRA runner-up, secured second place with 53 points after a decisive 47-14 victory over Peñarol. The Uruguayan franchise failed to capitalize on an opportunity to advance, falling short in this crucial match.

Capibaras, a new Argentine franchise this season, claimed third place with 44 points, despite a 42-15 loss to Tarucas. Tarucas finished fourth with 43 points. In the remaining match, Selknam defeated Cobras Brasil Rugby 45-14.

The semifinals will see Dogos XV face Tarucas, and Pampas compete against Capibaras, with all times corresponding to Argentina. The SRA, which began in 2020, has seen Jaguares XV win in 2021, followed by three consecutive titles for Peñarol in 2022, 2023, and 2025, before Dogos XV's victory in 2024.
