Alleged gang member with Interpol warrant brought to court in Slavonski Brod

Vuk Lakičević, identified as a member of the notorious Montenegrin "škaljarski klan," was brought to the County Court in Slavonski Brod under a significant security presence. Lakičević was apprehended less than a month ago at the Slavonski Brod border crossing based on an Interpol warrant.

The "škaljarski klan" is described as one of the most dangerous criminal underworlds in the Balkans, linked to numerous criminal activities. Lakičević faces extradition to Montenegro, where he is suspected of committing serious crimes, including "establishing a criminal organization" and "aggravated murder."

Since his arrest on April 29, Lakičević has been held in pre-trial detention in Požega. The court ordered his detention due to the risk of him fleeing during the extradition process. His criminal history includes two conditional convictions for theft, and he is also accused of brutally stabbing a girlfriend and attacking another inmate with a cutting board while in prison.

Authorities are proceeding with the extradition process to transfer Lakičević to Montenegrin authorities to face the charges against him.
