Alliana-Baruja will be Honor Colorado's presidential ticket, says Nicanor Duarte Frutos

Former Paraguayan President Nicanor Duarte Frutos has confidently predicted that Pedro Alliana and Juan Carlos Baruja will be the presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the ruling Honor Colorado movement in the 2028 elections.

Duarte Frutos asserted that the "officialist duo," referring to current Vice President Pedro Alliana and Urbanism, Housing, and Habitat Minister Juan Carlos Baruja, is certain to be the ticket. He believes that once the municipal elections conclude, the party's structure will solidify, and national teams will begin to mobilize.

"A viable candidacy capable of reaching power must ride on a great structure, cohesion, adherence, and organization," Duarte Frutos stated, highlighting the essential elements for electoral success. He specifically mentioned that the proposal for Baruja to serve as vice president alongside Alliana has been circulating within the Colorado party for some time.

Pedro Alliana himself has indicated that he will select his running mate after the municipal elections, scheduled for October 4.
