Alouettes ride seven-game win streak into Winnipeg clash

The Montreal Alouettes, with a formidable 9-1 record, are riding a seven-game winning streak as they prepare to face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Quarterback Davis Alexander has been instrumental in their success, leading the Canadian Football League in passing yards (3,400), completion percentage (73.3), and passer rating (124.5). He has thrown 20 touchdowns against just two interceptions, and his nine wins as a starter are also a league high.

Alexander's offensive prowess is complemented by a potent receiving duo in Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead, who rank first and second in the CFL for receptions and receiving yards, respectively. Running back Travis Theis also contributes significantly, sitting third in league rushing yards. However, the Alouettes face a tough challenge in Winnipeg's defense, which ranks first in the CFL in pass defense, allowing only 268.8 yards per game. Yet, the Bombers' run defense is a weakness, conceding a league-worst 127.9 rushing yards per game. This could play into Montreal's hands, as they lead the league in rushing offense. Winnipeg's own offense, led by CFL rushing leader Brady Oliveira, struggles in passing and has allowed the second-most sacks in the league, while Montreal's defense has been stingy, allowing a league-low 25.1 offensive points per game.
