Alpac Capital owner takes directorships at N1, Nova S, Radar, Danas; Luxembourg regulator has not yet approved takeover

Pedro Vargas David, owner of the Portuguese investment fund Alpac Capital, has assumed directorships at the companies that operate the media outlets N1, Nova S, Nova.rs, Radar, and Danas. This move signifies a step towards Alpac Capital's acquisition of United Group's (UG) media business in the region.

However, the transaction has not yet received approval from Luxembourg's media regulator, the Independent Authority for Audiovisual Media (ALIA). ALIA confirmed to Raskrikavanje that the procedure for approving the change of control over Adria News Network, the media group intended for acquisition, is still in progress.

The relevant Luxembourg ministry has requested ALIA's opinion on the transaction. ALIA stated that it is still preparing this opinion and confirmed that the acquisition has not been approved to date. Vargas David was officially registered as the director of these Serbian media outlets on Monday, August 17.
