Previously, the road, which subsided around 3 meters wide, became passable around 5 PM after the iron plates were installed. This allowed Transjakarta buses and other vehicles to cross the area. The subsidence is suspected to be caused by the deterioration of an old water channel beneath the road, exacerbated by age and heavy rainfall.
