Aluminum plate with fallen soldier's information discovered during grave excavation in Da Nang

Authorities in Da Nang, Vietnam, have unearthed a significant artifact while exhuming a soldier's grave for DNA analysis. During the excavation at the Bac Tra My Martyrs' Cemetery, officials discovered an aluminum plate inscribed with details of a fallen soldier.

The information on the plate is being further studied, cross-referenced, and verified by relevant agencies to clarify the identity of the fallen soldier.

The plate, found within the grave, bears information including the soldier's name (NG T TRO), birth year (1949), and a date (18-4-76), along with references to "X-HONG PHONG" and "H-CHUONG MY" in Ha Tay province, formerly Ha Tay old province.

Alongside the plate, a brown leather belt with a rusted buckle and an aluminum lighter cap were also recovered. These artifacts are now being studied to help confirm the soldier's identity.

The Military Command of Tra My Commune has appealed to the public, especially relatives of fallen soldiers, for any information that could assist in identifying the soldier. The authorities emphasize that any details provided will be crucial for the DNA identification process and for honoring the soldiers' sacrifice.
