Alumni Praise Unique Padel Gathering Hosted by UBSI Pontianak Campus

Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Kampus Pontianak has redefined the traditional alumni gathering by hosting a 'Gathering & Padel Day' with the theme 'From Campus to Court.' This innovative event breaks from the norm of formal meetings, offering alumni a chance to reconnect with their alma mater in a more dynamic and engaging setting.

I think this event is very creative. It's rare for a campus to hold such an event, especially choosing padel, which is currently hyped. Usually, alumni events are more in the form of formal events in a room.

The choice of padel, a sport currently experiencing a surge in popularity, proved to be a hit among attendees. The event successfully merged the objective of fostering camaraderie and networking with the enjoyment of a trendy physical activity. This approach was particularly praised by alumni who found it a refreshing departure from conventional, often rigid, formal gatherings.

Alumni like Trianitas, a 2016 Informatics Management graduate now working in sales and marketing, lauded the initiative. She described the event as highly creative, noting that it's rare for a university to organize such an activity, especially one centered around a sport like padel. The relaxed environment, she explained, allowed for more natural interactions among participants, making the reunion more enjoyable.

The most memorable experience I had during college was when I was working on my final project and creating a website. We really had to put in the effort for the website to be completed and functional.

Trianitas also reflected on her university experience, recalling the memorable challenge of completing her final project, which involved creating a website. She sees the perseverance required for such tasks as valuable preparation for the professional world, emphasizing the importance of resilience in overcoming workplace challenges.

Work life definitely has its challenges and isn't easy. So don't give up and keep your spirits up.

Looking ahead, Trianitas expressed hope that UBSI would continue to host similar events, perhaps incorporating a wider variety of sports to accommodate alumni with different preferences. This, she believes, would encourage broader participation and strengthen the connection between the university and its diverse alumni base. The Padel Day served not just as a sporting event but as a novel platform for rekindling university memories and forging new connections.
