Amambay and Campoalto to Clash in Copa Comuneros Basketball Finals

Deportivo Amambay and Campoalto have secured their spots in the finals of the Copa "Estadio Comuneros" basketball tournament, following their top two finishes in the initial phase. The championship series will be contested as a best-of-three matchup.

The Copa "Estadio Comuneros" features four clubs that did not advance to the second stage of the National Basketball League 2026. The round-robin phase of this tournament concluded on Thursday. Deportivo Amambay, hailing from Pedro Juan Caballero, and Deportivo Campoalto from Asunción, emerged as the top two teams, earning direct passage to the final.

The Paraguayan Basketball Confederation will schedule the final games. Deportivo Amambay, the defending champions, will have the home-court advantage, hosting two of the potential three games. In the final round of the preliminary stage, Amambay defeated San Alfonzo 110-79, having already secured their finalist position.
