Amazon cargo plane skids off runway during landing, flights suspended

An Amazon Boeing 767 cargo plane skidded off the runway while landing at Miami International Airport in Florida after departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Early images shared on social media showed the large aircraft lying sideways on a road outside the runway, with black smoke rising from its still-intact fuselage.

The Federal Aviation Administration said flights at the airport were suspended until 4:30 p.m. local time after the crash and that an investigation had begun. Authorities had not released information about the condition of the crew, and inquiries into the accident were continuing.
